(Suggested answers to the exercise)


    1. I always keep a bottle of water next to my bed in case I get thirsty during the night.
    2. Take some sandwiches with you in case you get hungry / in case you can't find a restaurant.
    3. You'd better take the keys in case I'm out when you get back.
    4. Just in case you're wondering why there are so many police officers in the high street today, it's because the President is visiting the town.
    5. In case I don't see you before the exam, I'll wish you good luck now.

    Here's a quotation from the movie, The Truman Show, 1998. Can you finish it?
     - Good morning and, in case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight.

    (The main character in The Truman Show, is a young man called Truman Burbank, played by Jim Carrey. He's quite a friendly character and the above quotation is the usual way in which he greets his neighbours).
