(Suggested answers to the exercise)


    1. Most snakes aren't dangerous, as long as you don't go too near them.
    2. You can borrow any of these CDs, as long as you look after them and let me have them back.
    3. You can cancel the reservation, as long as you give us 24 hours' notice.
    4. You can use this room for the party, as long as you clean it up afterwards.
    5. Some people will do almost any kind of job, as long as they get paid enough.

    NOTES:
    • Let me have them back: this means something similar to "give them back to me", or "return them to me".
    • Give us 24 hours' notice: this means something similar to "let me know 24 hours before."
